Goblin Mode or Rave Mode? The last year has often confronted me with contradictory feelings. Sometimes I wanted to run away and hole up, sometimes I wanted to dance all the madness off my chest. As a producer, I can try to do both at the same time and then call it art. Hiding in the studio while I immerse myself in groove and sound design, dancing alone and forgetting the world. Like my timeline, the bassline rolls relentlessly over me, while a mixture of synthetic and acoustic sounds in a psychotic dance open up a space of vague ideas and feelings.
Thomas Lovelace is a viennese soundartist, producer and DJ and member of the respect or tolerate Artist crew. He studied electroacoustic, experimental music at the mdw and gained experience in different genres.
In his productions and sets he weaves hypnotic, dark grooves with clashing, ecstatic acid sounds and melodic trance parts to span the many facets of techno and create a space for shared catharsis on the dancefloor.
